Why i don't Like Roberto Manchini

Vijay Anand

Well, it may not suit the taste of a Man C fan but i feel compelled to draw you closer to the position that has forced me to write following upsetting lines. Recently, supportive reports are roaming in media that Frank de Boar could be fill the vacancy of Coach's job at Etihad.

Though it's too early to write postscript of the EPL but since sir Mancini has himself threw the towel, it becomes demanding to ask what he was paid for and what he has delivered. With this huge gap at the top, it is more likely that the trophy can be handed over to their notorious neighbors as early at the end of round 31. Only silver lining in the cloud is their current 2nd spot in the EPL and that too is under constant threat by Blue-White and Red London brigade. Finishing runner up doesn't hurt more but the point gap really pains any fan of Man C.

Review the case of wasted Balotelli talent. He was purchased from Inter at the price of 29.5 m Euros and sold at 20 m, at a loss but he is shining otherwise. He had scored 7 goals in Serie A in as many matches!! Who is to blame is a demanding question? The images of tiff between both of them emerged on all media networks. If u can't talk to a fellow who also speaks the same mother tongue as yours (Italian) then the case desired to be probed. You have no. 3 and 4 of the Argentine strikers (behind for some, duo of Messi-higuain) and not utilizing them to the fullest. Moreover, Balotelli had a sojourn with Cesare Prandelli in Euro 12 and the images of his charismatic goal against Ireland and Biceps revealing goal in SF are still shouting loud in mind. He is mercurial, no doubt but he is playing his best soccer in AC Milan since he has parted his ways from Etihad. In the past relationship between him and Tevez has also turned sour and a lot of good time has gone wasted. Ultimately, it has suffered the club and moreover, worldwide fans. Mancini is popular not only in Man C fan base but in each of those circles who see Manchester United as bête noire and in him they see a real challenger who could shake the top.
And investment! Go through club's site and u can see huge price tag attached to each chap.

Looking back in history, he holds the record of 5 consecutive Coppa Italia titles with Inter from 2004-2008. He handed Manchester United their worst defeat since 1955 (6-1) and broke 44 years barren spell of League title for Man C. The thriller when fate of EPL 11-12 was decided in the last minute with the shout Aguero.... keeps drumming in millions of minds even today. But history is history. Presently, without a doubt, he has most talented troop in EPL. And what they have produced? Everyone do admit that they were in the group of death in Ch league where others had lifted the cup 20 times in the past, combined. They couldn’t register even a single win in group stage and finished with just 3 points which is a bitter pill to swollow. They even missed the bus of Europa cup. They went out of League cup in 3rd round to minnows Aston Villa. They lost to Manchester United, Magpies and Sundersland in December and since then, their campaign lost the track.

The current squad is playing for honour in FA cup only, the only silver ware they could claim, but Man U or Chelsea will stand in their way at SF, the last 2 teams that anybody in England desires to play. Manchini has set his eyes on retaining 2nd spot in EPL.

Postscript- With current talent of players, Manchester City should have been at least 6 points clear on top in EPL or in QF of Champions league or both. Last but not the least, Manchini should thank god that the owner of his club is Khaldoon Mubarak, not Roman Abramovich.
