medalist Harbinder Singh Chimni today released a book on greatest Olympian in
Hindi “Olympic Ke Mahanayak”. The
book written by Suresh Kumar Lau and Smita Mishra both working in Delhi
University as an Associate Professor in Satyawati College (Evening) and
S.G.T.B. Khalsa College respectively, having done a great job to the greatest
Olympians and Paralympians. Timing the relase of the well-compiled volume on
the eve of the London Olympics 2012 gives it a nostalgic touch, taking the
account of the achievements of the greatest Olympic athletes reflects the
stories and struggles of the modern Games. It is a fascinating short story of
those who have made this most gripping of events the greatest show on planet.
The Olympians and Paralympians in this book shared alike experiences and you
will read about many names that are so familiar today. However, as well as
Jesse Owens, Michael Phelps and Paavo Nurmi, there are many other who may be
less familiar but whose achievements have still push forwarded them into the
ranks of the greats: Udam Singh, Fanny Blankers-Koen, Dhyan Chand and Trischa
Zorn, to mention but a handful. The authors deserve praise for bringing out
