Swami Shraddhanand College retains D U Cricket title

Defending Champion Swami Shraddhanand College (S.S.C), playing true to its form, retained the title by beating last seven - time successive runner up Aryabhatta (formerly Ram Lal Anand College (Evening), by four - wicket in the final of Delhi University Cricket men's tournament, played first time final at the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Dwarka recently.

This was S.S.C second successive title for the team in the Delhi University prestigious tournament. S.S.C made up largely of Delhi University team players.

Crediting his mentor and Asst. Prof. Dr. Inder Mohan Datta of S.S.C, for giving the essential inputs, the S.S.C captain Hitesh Gemini said he succeeded by keeping it simple and following his instincts.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Aryabhatta scored 117 all out in 34.1 overs. Unbeaten Deepak Khatri of S.S.C eventually finished with 35 off 35 balls with 3 fours and six. Ultimately, the S.S.C target was achieved in 28 deliveries remaining.

Last Year's champion S.S.C, runner- up Aryabhatta (formerly Ram Lal Anand (Evening)), third position SGTB SGTB Khalsa College, and fourth position Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce restored the status quo.
